Built and deployed for festival food court conditions, it creates a comfortable shaded environment where people can sit, eat, rest, and reconnect throughout the day.
Built using Flying Shade’s cell system, each cell is a 17 × 17 foot unit of measurement. This layout uses 9 cells with a 10th cell centered to create a canopy that feels balanced, open, and easy to navigate. The result is broad shade coverage with clear edges and natural pathways for tables, lines, and pedestrian flow.
The canopy geometry creates gentle peaks and valleys overhead, allowing airflow while softening light and reducing heat buildup. The open perimeter supports visibility and circulation, making it well suited to food courts and vendor-adjacent zones.
The overall footprint accounts for angled bamboo support braces, referred to as kickers, which extend approximately 8 feet outward around the entire perimeter of the shade canopy. This increases total width and length by 16 feet and should be included when planning site layout, clearances, and circulation.
