Our Team
For more than 15 years, Flying Shade has been shaped by the teams who committed their skill, care, and creativity to the work. Builders, artists, problem-solvers, and collaborators came together with intention and pride in what we were creating. Every structure we’ve raised reflects the dedication of vibrant community members who believed in the team they were part of and the environments we built together.
Over the years, our work has carried different names, including Lucidity Festival, Lucidity Collaborative Events, and Branches Mobile Gallery. As the names evolved, the people, values, and standards remained consistent. Across every chapter, these teams brought passion, trust, humor, and a shared commitment to doing meaningful work well.
We hold deep respect and admiration for every person who has contributed their hands, hearts, and ideas to this work. Flying Shade exists because of these teams and because of a belief in building environments that support connection, care, and creativity.
Our History
Flying Shade was forged through over a decade of community-based festival creation. For twelve years, Lucidity Festival served as a living laboratory for collaboration, design, logistics, and care. It brought together artists, builders, organizers, volunteers, and attendees who believed that events could be rooted in shared values and collective responsibility.
Lucidity Festival was more than an event. It was a community that grew through trust, creativity, and collective effort. Its closing marks the end of a meaningful era, and there is both gratitude and sadness in acknowledging that transition.
At the same time, its legacy continues. Flying Shade carries forward the practices and principles learned through twelve years of deep community festival development. Care for crews. Respect for environments. Thoughtful design. Safe, efficient builds. And most importantly, a deep understanding of what becomes possible when a community works together.
To the Lucidity community, and to everyone who helped build that world with us, we offer our sincere thanks. Flying Shade moves forward grounded in that experience, guided by that spirit, and committed to carrying those values into every project we create.
